“I want to be a leader in the industry and grow for the best berry company in the world. That’s why I grow for Driscoll’s.”
Dave has been farming for 17 years and growing Driscoll’s patented berry varieties since 1992. He grows conventional strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries at his ranches near Watsonville. He also farms organic strawberries.
Dave’s philosophy of growing is a matter of pride. “I love the fact that I produce a product – FOOD. I want to be a leader in the industry and grow for the best berry company in the world. That’s why I grow for Driscoll’s.”
His partner, Woody, has two grown daughters and five grandchildren who are an important part of Dave’s family life. In his spare time, he collects antique and toy tractors. He also enjoys construction and can build just about anything.
Dave has many community commitments that keep him quite busy. He is a 30-year member of the Freedom Rotary Club, a Community Service Organization, a member of the Monterey County Farm Bureau Board Member, and a Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency Board Member. For the past ten years, Dave has been a construction team leader for the Ag History Project Museum and Education Center at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, a volunteer group formed to keep local agriculture history alive in Santa Cruz County.
