About the Opportunity

The purpose of the Sales department is to execute on go-to-market strategies to grow and strengthen the berry categories for our customers. Driscoll’s success in the berry industry relies on our Sales /Account team’s ability to work cross-functionally across Demand Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Product Leadership and Marketing to optimize revenue and product distribution in supply exceeds, and demand exceeds markets. A strong Sr. Account Manager at Driscoll’s has a pulse on market dynamics and can work in a fast-paced environment to execute on short-range sales plans based on Driscoll’s internal sales strategies to ensure customer service and enterprise profitability. Sr. Account Managers are responsible in making timely and strategic decisions and demonstrate strong communication skills to navigate conversations at multiple levels from junior staff to C-Level executives. This role will report into the Sales Manager

Responsibilities

What will be your focus?

For the 1st year your focus will be:

  • Getting a good understanding of Driscoll’s mission, vision & values + DEMEA operations. This will be support with an in-depth onboarding plan, visits to internation fairs (like Fruit Logistica in Berlin and Fruit Attraction in Madrid). You build your internal network within all functionalities, learn from customers and peers of different regions. Visit our nurseries and growers, where you will learn all about activities of our test plots in DEMEA where you will be introduced to the science behind our varieties and how we develop them for the market. But also, how we gain knowledge, ways of growing the fruit using new techniques, less water usage, etc.
  • Each season has a different swing. So important is to experience them al and understand the how these seasons impact our day to day and the challenges and opportunities it brings.
  • Establish a strong relationship with your customers and getting a very good understanding their ways of working & build strong network.
  • Of course, you will learn about our (ERP) systems like DAX, reporting tool Tableau & forecasting tool Anaplan

The 2nd year around we expect you to :

  • Work more strategically and establish a 1-year outlook together with Sales Management, Product Business Managers (PBM) and customers Aligned Business Planning
  • Work closely together with Sales Management and PBM on reaching the customers volumes and targets prices. You have developed a plan to increase in volume growth, prizes and decrease of claim rate.
  • You will collaborate with other functionalities to deliver better service for example, work on a shorter supply chain or ways to enhance the cold chain by aligning internal and customer processes.  
  • Boost cross functional work, create strong connectivity with other departments to strengthen cooperation and knowledge sharing, projects, etc.
  • Prepare and lead customer meetings (seasonal re-/previews).

Candidate Profile

  • Ability to use internal systems Basic DAX, Salesforce and other customer order platforms

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. 

  • Ability to work through flexible work environments as the job requires: in-office, virtual, in-field, etc. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5-10 years successful agricultural sales experience, berries preferred but not required.

  • Strong understanding of grocery retail price strategies, merchandising, and supply-chain.

  • A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
