About the Opportunity
The Transportation Network Manager, DOTA (Driscoll's of the Americas) is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining a high-performing carrier network that aligns with Driscoll’s key strategies and transportation initiatives. This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, onboarding and managing existing carrier’s performance to ensure the most reliable, cost-effective, and scalable transportation network. This role requires a strategic mindset and strong analytical capabilities to evaluate carrier performance, negotiate contracts, and drive continuous improvements in service levels, transit times, and overall logistics efficiency. The Transportation Network Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams, including supply chain, distribution, trade compliance, sales and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of transportation plans. Beyond managing day-to-day carrier relationships, this position will also focus on long-term network optimization, leveraging data analytics, market trends, and industry best practices to enhance carrier engagement, mitigate risk, and drive cost savings.Responsibilities
• Carrier Strategy and Development: Responsible for designing and implementing a carrier procurement and qualification framework based on the direction of the Director of Transportation & Trade Compliance, that ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations. It focuses on building a diverse and scalable carrier portfolio to meet regional and national transportation needs across the US, Mexico, and Canada. Additionally, staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging logistics solutions is crucial for maintaining a competitive and resilient carrier network.
• Carrier Performance & Relationship Management: involves establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time pick up, on time delivery, cold chain, utilization and cost performance. Performs regular quarterly and annual performance reviews to address service gaps and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, this role serves as the primary point of contact for strategic carrier partners, fostering long-term relationships that drive mutual success.
• Performance Standards, Reporting, and Improvement: Leads/supports the development and integration of performance standards (financial, operating, and cold chain). Creates reporting and works internally with the team and with service providers to achieve performance targets.
• Carrier Qualifying and Relationship Management: Qualifies new carriers and manages carrier relationships. Manages the execution of carrier RFP.
• Logistics Contracts: Leads/supports contract development and execution in conjunction with the Director of Transportation & Trade, and our Legal Department for all applicable service providers. This includes all transportation carriers.
• Carrier Dispute Resolution and Compliance: Support the escalation of carrier-related claims by facilitating communication and resolution efforts, without being responsible for claim research or determination. Ensure carriers adhere to regulatory standards and company policies while collaborating with compliance and legal teams to mitigate transportation risks.
• Professionalism: Nurtures, supports and promotes the company mission statement and values. Follows company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, government agencies, growers, customers, etc. Ensures the confidentially of Driscoll’s proprietary information. Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.
• Domestic and international travel required up to 20%.
• Represents Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers and the business community at large.
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics with 5+ years of experience in the transportation industry.
• Familiar with key transportation concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proven background with logistics / transportation systems, leading logistics network improvements through strong financial and operating performance metrics.
• Strong understanding of transportation of logistics regulatory compliance, expected.
• Exceptional organization skills with the ability to solve problems with a sense of urgency.
• Multi-modal (truck, rail, ocean, air), and import/export knowledge and experience essential.
• Dependable, reliable and able to work independently.
• Posess high level computer skills in the use of Windows, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Experience in developing, negotiating, and executing service agreements.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable carrier contracts.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication.
• Must be flexible with work schedule, able to work overtime and weekends as required, travel occasionally, and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience leading cross functional efforts with Carriers, Network Partners & 3PL’s.
• Bilingual English / Spanish Required.
• Experience working with cross-border transportation and international carriers.
Preferred Qualifications
• California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program.
• A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
Compensation & Benefits

The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
Salary Range estimated for the Transportation Network Manager, DOTA role: $70,953.20/year to $114,633.80/year.
