Description
Make this blackberry glaze to marinate your chicken then reserve a small amount for dipping with this juicy and unique twist on traditional wings. To simplify this recipe, you can cut chicken wings at the joint with poultry sheers or a sharp knife, or purchase drumettes instead of wings.
- 1 Clove garlic
- 1 Tsp. salt
- 1 Tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 Package (6 ounces) Driscoll's Blackberries
- 1/4 Cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 Cup lemon juice
- 1/4 Cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 Cup dark beer
- 12 chicken wings
-
Place chicken wings in large mixing bowl.
-
Combine berries, oil, lemon juice, Worcestershire, beer, garlic, salt and pepper in a blender; blend until smooth. Set aside 3/4 cup sauce for dipping.
-
Pour remaining sauce over wings in a bowl; toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate 2 to 4 hours or overnight.
-
Preheat over to 450°F. Line a baking sheet or roasting pan with foil and coat with nonstick spray. Shake excess marinade off wings and place on pan. (Discard marinade.)
-
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until cooked through and well browned.
-
Serve warm or cool with reserved dipping sauce.
