Bramble cocktails are traditionally made with blackberries, but the luscious sweetness and deep color of fresh blueberries are a worthy variation on this popular drink. Make the blueberry simple syrup ahead of time, store it in the fridge, and you’ll be set to sip any time!

Ingredients
Blueberry simple syrup
1/2 cup water
1/2 package (6 ounces) Driscoll’s Blueberries
1/2 cup honey
Cocktail
Ice
2 ounces gin
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 ounce blueberry simple syrup
1/2 ounce crème de cassis
Driscoll’s Blueberries
Lemon peel

POUR 1/2 cup water into a saucepan.

ADD 1/2 package (6 ounces) blueberries.

COOK over medium high until blueberries begin to open, 5 – 8 minutes.

MASH blueberries with a potato masher or the back of a large spoon.

STRAIN mixture through a fine strainer into a bowl and DISCARD solids.

STIR IN 1/2 cup honey.

TRANSFER to a lidded jar and STORE in refrigerator until needed.

FILL a cocktail tumbler with ice and SET ASIDE.

POUR 2 ounces (about 1/4 cup) gin into a cocktail shaker.

ADD 1 ounce (about 2 tablespoons) fresh lemon juice.

ADD 1 ounce (about 2 tablespoons) blueberry simple syrup.

ADD 1/2 ounce (about 1 tablespoon) crème de cassis.

FILL cocktail shaker with ice.

COVER cocktail shaker tightly with lid.

SHAKE cocktail shaker until sides are well frosted.

POUR cocktail into prepared cocktail tumbler.

GARNISH with blueberries and GARNISH with lemon peel.
